Winterfell

The Broken Tower

Place After the Conquest

This was the tallest watchtower in Winterfell until lightning struck it, more than a hundred years before the story, and set it burning. The top of the tower fell in on itself. No one rebuilt it. What stands now is a blackened stump with an open crown, and stones still work loose from it and fall.

It stands beside the inner ward, close to the northern side of the First Keep, where the archers practise. Crows nest in what is left of the upper floors, and the household leaves the top of it to them.
